that's awesome, Kiara! Congratulations :) I just tried on my favourite pair of jeans that hadn't fit in a long time and I could just about get them on - it's definitely a good motivator!
Way to go! That has to be a great feeling.
cool news! it is always a good feeling when you can brush the dust off an old pair of jeans! great job girlies! the challenge is gonna wrap up in a few days! i can't believe that it is almost june already. this year is going by quick..
That is sooooo great! Just don't let your sister know that you'll soon be wearing her clothes!
I was the sister that always got her clothes "borrowed" It hasn't happened since I moved out my parent's house, but it used to make me mad back in the day. Not being able to find something I wanted to wear used to put me in a bad mood to start my day :)
Hey Congrats to you Kiara! Downsizing can be a new trend.. along with the I'm lovin' it jingle from *someones* commercial..
Congratulations! Isn't it great buying smaller clothing or putting on some older clothing and seeing how loose it is or how nice it suddenly hangs! To me, that alone is the best feeling about losing weight! :) I wrote in another thread that I have this old belt. Last summer at this time, I was two or three notches into the belt. As I lost weight, I kept going down in notches until I had to make new holes!! Ultimately, I made two holes and was debating about a third (wasn't there yet). I never bought a new belt as this one was fine, even if a bit big. However, it seemed weight was creeping back on throughout this year. And two weeks ago, I found that second new hole that I made suddenly being a bit tight!! 8O Forget the scale, that alone proved to me that I was gaining weight (and the scale did confirm it). While I "thought" I was still eating well and doing O.K. in terms of exercise, clearly I was not. And when I reflect HONESTLY with myself, I realize it was worse than I thought. Was I back to my old habits? Thank God, no! I was still far better than I was a year ago, where I'd think nothing of eating two McD sandwiches for lunch (with fries) and then have a pizza with appetizers for dinner! But obviously the little things I was doing was enough to put on some pounds. So for the last two weeks, I've been slowly incorporating more exercise back into my life. Simultaneously, I've been cutting out more and more "goodies" and sticking to a more strict diet. This involved mostly the foods I ate, but I'm also trying to reduce calories too. Well, this morning I weighed myself and the scale really didn't change - or anything worth mentioning. But something DID change... My belt! This morning I was easily able to get back to that last hole I made - and I had room to spare! Just two weeks ago it was tight and now it's loose again, even though the scales haven't changed. In other words, don't let the scales control your life. I think our clothes and bodies are far better at telling us how we are doing than our scales. :)
Well i fianly went shopping for clothes, something that i had to do becuase my clothes were to big, and i am happy to say that i have size 16's hanging in my cluaset. HAPPY HAPPY. My prom dress from 2001 was a size 24. I cant wait until i have to buy new clothes. :D :D
That's great Kiara :) I hope you had fun shopping and enjoy wearing your new clothes!
Funny to hear tell about the clothing thing. One of my "target" items was a leather jacket I had in college - freshman year. I hadn't been able to wear it for almost 20 years, but couldn't bring myselft to toss it. When I started the weight loss scene - I would try that jacket on every month or so on the way down - as the SIZE was the target I was shooting for initially. Funny thing, I made it to the point I could wear that jacket again (going from a size 58 portly suit jacket to the size 40 regular leather coat); but by that point I was in a changed lifestyle - and the new goal was the "target" weight for my height. I made that goal 2 months later - but the joke (on me) is that now my target garment is too big <LOL> GridRunner Largest/Heaviest 386+ Current 168
Congratulation Gridrunner. I think that it is much better to have your clothes be too big than two small. Again congrats. [color=red:ad0d1153d0][u:ad0d1153d0][b:ad0d1153d0]Kiara[/b:ad0d1153d0][/u:ad0d1153d0][/color:ad0d1153d0]
