Hey Everyone, I have a couple of questions that I want to know if its important to a diet. 1. Is it bad to go to sleep after an extensive workout? I wake up around 7am workout for about 2 hours and then go back to bed. 2. Is it better to eat before working out or after working out? Why?

1. I guess it's not bad, as long as you stretch after the workout and have a shower. It is important to stretch, so that you won't be sore. I've been doing the same thing for years (I’ve only been a slob for the last couple of months), but I've never had any problems. 2. It is good to eat something light before the workout, to keep your blood sugar stable. But nothing too big, since you might end up feeling sick or black out (when you eat extra blood goes into the digestive system, and exercise forces the blood to go into the muscles, so your brain will stay without any blood). Not eating anything before a workout didn't work for me- I fainted, and eating a big meal didn't work either. Bananas are great before a workout- unless you're counting carbs. I've read that you should wait at least an hour after a workout before you eat a substantial meal. The blood will still be in your peripheral parts, and the digestive system won't be able to digest the food well, so you might feel nausea or heartburn. However, you should drink lots of fluids during and after the workout. If you feel very hungry you should eat something small-an apple, or something like that-it will help you stay full, and it will keep your blood sugar from taking a nosedive. I can't tell if this is true, since I always sleep afterwards. Hope I helped.

try not to eat before an hour after eating a snack, and about 2 hours after a meal. the reason for this is while u exercise blood carrying oxygen etc will go to the working muscles and may reduced the amount going to organs. it is better to let food digest before eating especially if you will be doing something like yoga. you could feel nauseous if doing exercise straight after eating, also stitch and you wont perform as well. as for sleeping afterward, i wuld be better not to sleep straight afterward as your heart rate takes time to go down and for pulse to return for normal. try and do a gentle cool down aster every exercise session. hope this help love Cam xxx

Well, im not sure about #1. But for #2. I would eat before I exercise because that way you can burn off the calories... I dont really know though :(

Yeah, ive read in lots of places, that if you eat before you exercise, when you do exercise, you burn off the calories that you just ate, not any fat that ur trying to get rid of. You should eat after you exercise, about 10/15mins after, because exercise raises your metabolism, and so burns calories up faster in the food you eat afterwards. About going to bed after you exercise...im not really sure, i guess as long as you stretched after the exercise, and didn't go directly back to bed, then it would be ok... personally i wouldnt do that, once you wake up and begin to be active for the day, you should stay up.... it could be bad for your body clock.

The best times to eat around a workout are........ A healthy breakfast within 2 hrs BEFORE your workout, if it has been more than 2 hrs since your last meal then a healthy snack within 1 hr of your workout. The best time to eat AFTER a workout is within 1hr, this is also the best time to eat carbs if you have a weakness for them. As for sleeping after a workout, if you are actually able to have a restful sleep at that time, perhaps you arent working out hard enough

Its not real bad to sleep after exercise, just watch for lactic acid build up which causes those cramps and muscle spasms. Avoid dairy when doing it like you talked about, as it is high in lactic acid.. :D
