I have the same problem! Buy the lightest trainers you can find with good " shock absorbers" in the heels. I find lightweight trainers really help prevent shin splints, those extra few ounces less make a big difference when you think how many times you have to lift them during a jog. I find pavments easier to jog on than grass which is less even and can shock your knees more. Good luck and keep going.
I also jog and was wondering how many days a week to you jog and for how long/ how far? I was jogging 5 days a week 2 miles a day but I have cut back to about 2-3 days a week 2 miles a day. I did this partly because I was nervous about the effects it would have on my knees. On my off days I try to go for a bike ride instead. I also do a few workout tapes during the week. (the firm and Paloties) I was just wondering what you do as far a jogging is conserned. Thanks, Ruth
