BigBoy, as the diet goes on you can add more carbs to your daily eating so it won't stay as strict as time goes on. 8O
BB, You need to think of any low carb diet as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. You remove certain types of foods from your lifestyle and replace them with others. You shouldn't be struggling with the replacement foods, especially if you've been on the diet for awhile. The main Atkins book and the subsequent ones have a great number of dessert replacements you can make. Many of them use heavy cream and sugar substitutes and end up tasting pretty good. You shouldn't approach Atkins with a sense of scarcity. The main thing you do on Atkins is eat until you're full, rather than diet. As you get satisfied more normally, you develop less of a hunger. The weight will come off eventually. Don't be so obsessed with the scale. You said your clothes are fitting looser. That should be all the encouragement you need to continue. Have a good one. BigAl
thanks for the words, bigal. im more hostiile towards atkins today. i have gained 15 pounds since i started! the only thing i can figure is that its protein and ive been working out. ive always heard that muscle is heavier than fat so maybe the weight gain is nothing to worry about. who knows? i would still rather see positive results on the scale.
If you want results quicker, you may want to get more restrictive on your diet. Although you can eat sausage and other heavy fat items on the atkins diet, you can also eat lower calorie food and watch the weight loss happen a bit more quickly. you still want high protein, but it doesn't have to be high fat. try some fish. maybe canadian bacon. and just keep working out, especially doing cardio. this should help "unstick" you. hth BigAl

I feel your pain BigBoy! Pie in general is just so ..... nice :)
i decided to forget about the atkins diet. i went out this weekend and bought some fruit. i feel better already :)
i dont get the adkins diet dont they feed those animal stuff to fatin them up that stuff is still in the meat so isnt it like we are eating that to
the basic idea is that the high protein foods haven't been refined and don't have added sugars so they are healthier.
