lady D Where did you find that inf. I want to figure it out for a female 5 5 26 years old and 165 pounds how many calories to eat to lose weight. I saw a formula on some website. It did it and it said i should eat 2310 calories to maintain my weight, and take off 500 a day to lose a pound a week. Is that right or should i eat less.


i don't know how many calories are suggested to maintain your weight, but 1 pound is equal to 3500 calories, so yes, if you cut 500 calories a day (or burn them with exercise) you should be able to lose about a pound a week.


princessm, cutting 500 calories a day should be adequate.
