hey guys, i was just wondering how many calories you all try to eat everyday in order to lose wieight. i know its different for everyone but maybe we can learn a few things from each other! :D im trying to eat about 1500 calories a day right now (notice the word trying) but hopefully after i've gotten used to that i can get down to 1200 or so a day. :P April


I like to stay around 1000 to 1200 but if i go up to 1500 i do not feel guilty at all. Kiara


i don't really count calories per say, i sort of judge by the quality of the food i eat. i try to eat mostly fruits and vegetables, also cereals and soy milk are staples in my diet. a lot of people eat a number of small meals throughout the day.. i know a dinner consisting of mostly deep fried stuff is over the top.. i hope this helps..


I know my 'diet' is not healthy really, but I can't really help it... :( I usually go to extremities - one week I take less than 1000, and the other week, after I've seen on scale that I've lost a pound, I eat more than 4000 calories a week. :( Because I can't hold myself away from food. But I still stay on the same. AND (!) I enjoy. :) Which is important. Anyways, what I wanted to say is, if you eat less than 1000 cal a day, you can obviously loose weight in a week. If you eat much cellulosis (or however it's spelled), vitamins and minerals, and water, plus some proteins, you can easily loose weight in a healthy way, can't you? Is that right (what I'm doing)? ???


hey mirca, i know what you mean about counting calories but not necessarily eating healthy. i try to stay at 1000 a day but ill eat a bagel and cream cheese (loaded with fat) at noon which is like 600 cals and then i only have 400 cals for the rest of the day. i think taking vitamins is more healthy for you but i dont really know if they have any weight loss value, other than the fact that they might make you feel better and more motivated to lose weight. :) April


I eat around 1200-1500 calories daily. I don't let myself have more than 480 calories from fat a day or more than 53 grams of fat daily . If I go over that I usually try to exercise like 10 extra minutes the following day.


Anorexic... I aim for less than 500 but my average is about 550 600ish. Depends on the day. Please don't lecture me, ok???


i've been trying not to go over 300 calories and haven't the past week--today i only had 120!!


sounds as if you girls should be seeking counseling. i'm not going to lecture, but this really isn't a website geared towards "anerexia" it isn't safe and it isn't healthy. let us know when your hair starts falling out...


To the people who are eating less then 500 calories daily, I suggest go to your search browser (internet) and type in "low calorie diet" or "very low calorie diet", I found very interesting articles there. A very low calorie diet (like yours) can be done but most articles say only to do it under a doctor’s care and usually reserved for the morbidly obese. Your body will turn on itself and start using it's own muscles, bones, and healthy tissue for NRG (with permanent damage) This includes brain matter. Hair and tooth loss is also a common side effect of very low calorie dieting along with depression and mental instability. But hey, good luck! Sounds like a dangerous to get healthy???????? Are you guys teenage women?

No wonder my memory is going down the drain... and my spelling, sight, other stuff. Hey, I know... it's just really hard to get out of it once you've started.


Like if you're doing 200-400 cal I day (I have been lately), think about how hard it is to start eating another 2,00 or so calories when you're mindset is to hate food. You try it... seriously.....
