You've heard about the benefits of soy for health but how much is enough? It depends. For prevention of heart disease and cancer, consume 2-4 servings per day. For healthy bones, up it to 4 servings per day. One servings equals 1/2 cup of cooked soybeans, 1/2 cup tofu, 1 cup soymilk, 1/4 cup soynuts, 1/2 cup textured soy protein or 1/2 cup tempeh.

I absolutely love Chocolate Soy Milk. It's so tasty!

Go to about.thyroid.com and ask about soy. It may not be as "healthy" for you as you think. I foolish fell into believing it was healthy and would help my PMS, so I started take Soy lectincin (?spelling?) supplements about a months worth and it sent my thyroid into such a tizzy it took about 3 months until it straighten out again. When reading my "numbers" I thought I gave my thyroid doctor a heart attack. I'm lucky, at that time I was seeing him once a month I can't even image the damage I could have caused if I wasn't already aware of my thyroid disease. He said NO more soy supplements! So as a rule I try to keep away from soy all together, but it is in most processed food now so you really have to watch. I wonder if that is why thyroid disease is at a all time high in this country??? Just don't believe all the hype about soy before looking into the other side. It could be harmful to your health.

Thanks for that information. I wasn't aware that soy could have adverse effects. That is something worth checking into..
