.. a two peice bathing suit! :)
I second that, Pixie! :D
I third that! :) **The thought of long warm days 'swimming' in my head**
I know this might sound strange, but what keeps me motivated is my scale. Many people don't like daily weigh ins. I can understand that, it isn't for everyone. We fluctuate daily with water weight anyway. But I like to see the general progress and I'm driven further when I see the numbers shrink. Today I hit 182 even on my scale this morning. I'm pretty pumped about it. AF lll
Thats great Af well done keep up the hard work you are going good see i told u a postive attitude will get u good results
Great job AF :D Keep it up :D Kiara
Being a healthier person is what keeps me motivated. Being in better shape than what I was 20 years ago keeps me motivated too..
Accomplishing every goal I set for myself...plus the fact I treat myself for every 10 pounds lost...I but a new outfit and toss out an old "bigger" outfit.
Definitely the new clothes!
I would have to echo the bathing suit. I am hoping to plan a beach vacation of some sort for the end of this year. I want to feel proud of my body, and not wear a TShirt over my suit.. 8O Great clothes is a good motivation, too!
I have worn a t-shirt over my bathing suit for YEARS! Until I found a bathing suit I loved. The kind that looks like shorts (with the bikini underneath) and a tank top. But this year I have a new found confidence, in years past I too have hid underneath a t-shirt! I thought I was the only one hiding!
its good to see everyone has the same dream almost. waltzing around in a swim suit near a pool! all the cool people ogling our new looks :) with enough effort it can happen!
My motivation is me and my two boys and my husband notice i put me first that's who i'm doing it for so i will be around longer with better eating :D and i also know when i do get to goal i'm getting $300 up front for new clothes and then another $300 along the way meaning whenever possible whether it be $20 here or what have you.
Motivation is a tough one. There are so many days when I just want to say, "Screw it!" and dive into a double cheese pizza, tons of appetizers and loads of chocolate. BUT... All I need to do is grab my belly. I can feel the rolls of fat! And that alone is enough to convince me that as much as I want to eat and eat and eat (especially unhealthy food), that's not what my body needs. Also, I remind myself that I spent a small fortune on my BowFlex - so it's a GOOD thing to use it. Plus, even though I'm not a fan of exercising by any means, I do like how I feel when I'm done. And I'm even seeing hints of muscle, which is always motivation to keep going. Even on days when I just don't have the strength to use the BowFlex, I feel a good walk with my dog (so he can lose more weight too) or even something simple like bowling, is better than nothing. Lastly, I have pictures I donwloaded of famous actors - people I'd like to look like. Having pictures of heavy people did nothing for me as I only thought to myself, "Hey, I'm not as big as they are!". But having a picture of an in-shape person around motivates me because I know I have to diet and work-out to look like them. Of course, I'm oceans away from looking like these actors, but it's still better than sitting on my sofa, eating pizza and chocolate and doing nothing.
ahhh motivation.... mine comes from the pure satisfaction that i feel when i put on my old clothes from high school........mind you i havent been able to fit into all of them. but its a great rush!!! i also look forward to the day i walk down the street and dont feel my cheeks bounce to every step i take. when i can sit down in a chair and not have a discusting roll hang over my pants.
i took my niece and nephew to the zoo yesterday. there is a big hill you have to walk up to see the shark tanks. last year, this was nearly an impossible chore. i had to rest many times and i was whining the whole time. this year i was able to traverse the hill without any complaints at all. we all walked for 3 1/2 hours and the only ones complaining at the end were the kids! feeling healthy and being able to be very active are the types of things which keep us motivated.
I am saving up my money to reward myself when i reach my goal weight. I hope to have 2000 saved. that is my motivation
Money is always a good motivation. Or just wanting something. Wanting something bad enough is a great motivator!
.. all of the great members here!
what motivates me are other people. i like to people-watch and look at others who are my height and see if they are bigger or smaller than me so i kinda know how i fit into the norm. for the longest time i was motivated by supermodels and stuff like that but i just realized that i'm not ever going to be 5'10 105. :P April
People watching is always good for an ego boost. You can always find someone to look down on! I'm just kidding, but you know what I mean! There's always someone out there who looks so bad you realize you're not all that bad after all. :P
Lately my motivation is how good i feel now that i lost some weight. It makes me want to lose more. Kiara
My motivation? Here. 1.) Summer is here. I can't even think of swimming suit... 2.) I've been overweight for my whole life (I'm 15 now, and I've had + pounds since I was 8) wich bothers me... Everyone knows me as a plump. :-( I want to change that. 3.) I think one guy likes me but I could never date anyone if I'm overweight. I guess I just have a complex. I see those couples where a girl is plump and I feel sooo envious... :-( I just... couldn't. If you get me. 4.) I guess I'd feel much more confident. 5.) I could wear whatever I like. This way, I can't buy whatever I want. I need an L or XL size although I'm just a teen. I don't feel really GREAT when I walk around the stores... :-( But I still can't leave a piece of cake or pizza if I have it. Screw it!! And then after I eat it, I feel really bad about it and say 'I'll start with my weight loss program tommorow'. But I never really do. So - SCREW IT!!!
when you're 15 you can lose weight in a snap! just take up jogging or something. summer will be here in weeks!
It doesn't get started till you do, that is for sure. Keep all of your motivation in mind if you are feeling tempted..
I have found my best motivation is that I will be healthier and not end up like my grandma with diabetes, high blood pressure etc. My dad is my motivator. He had a double lung transplant 7 months ago and he was real sick and almost died. He came back a excerciser, non smoker and a casual drink once in a while. He knows where I am at and he never judges me on it. He presses me forward if I have procrastinated and he reminds me that I could die of a heart attack if I let myself go further. Love is my motivator. I sooooooo agree on the 2 piece bicini but that is a long long long long term goal  sharky 8)
 Motivation is a good thing to have... for me it's knowing that I look better than I did 4 months ago and will look even better by the end of this year. When I'm feeling less than motivational I count on good friends, inspirational parents and a picture of the one thing I want most when I loose all this excess weight...and its not a guy! Focusing on the positive rather than the negative for me is a bit of an issue but, I put on some Janet or Black Eyed Peas and pump to the music knowing one day that I'll have moves and curves in all the right places. I also, on the fact that if I exercise I can control my disease and I'll be healthy and happy. Motivation for me: 1. good friends 2. people who encourage me and vice versa 3. upbeat pop or rock music 4. and that I'm one day going to be able to overcome being the FAT GIRL....
my motivation...are my friends..we are all in this together and my new friend that I have met right here has been the biggest insperation for me..her name is Happy!! We now talk daily and share our goals, success and even out tiny failures, we boost each up when needed and are there for encouragement..this is my motivation!! Pegster :D :D :D :D :D :D
i know this is going to sound stupid to some but...i want to be able to put a sexy nighty on for my husband and FEEL pretty.
Hi everyone! Been a while, but I'm checking in! As for motivation, I get mine mainly from my co-workers...who I hate to say actually spend more time with me, and notice the changes more than my family members. I work in a nursing home, and my co-workers are constantly remarking on how much weight I've lost. I've gone from 210-my heaviest to 165, which seems to be where I'm stuck right now. I took February and March off my diet - I had been on Phentermine - and I wanted to give my body a break. So now after a 2 month "hiatus" I'm back on track, and trying a new diet pill called Bontril SR. It doesn't make you shaky or nervous like the Phentermine (Adipex) does, nor does it keep me up at night. All I notice is that I'm not hungry. Plus I'm still drinking loads of water, as always, so that's also helpful. But being tall (5'7") makes me appear thinner than I am, and a big part of my motivation is the pair of size 10 Levi's button fly jeans that are hanging in my closet...waiting to be worn! I'm in a size 12/14 right now, and I'll be happiest when I can be a size 10 - again! Good luck to you all, and thanks for all your support!
**Great to see you again, anndoodle!** Congrats on the weight loss you've had so far! You must feel much better :)
Thanks! I do feel so much better! And I'll hopefully feel even better by June...am joining in on the next challenge! My avatar is a new pic of me...(minus some turkey-gobble in the chin area...yay!) Been playing with my new camera - my son graduates high school in May, so I made a good investment! *a little reward for me, too!*
Looking Good, Ann! That is a great picture of you, and you don't look old enough to have a son graduating! Keep up the good work!
Sharkfanatic.. Those are all good reasons to stay motivated. Your dad serves as proof that you can change something if you really want to. And its probably better to make that decision yourself, then have a doctor tell you that there "is no choice". Nella.. Welcome to the forums :) Being happy and healthy is so important! Pegster.. Glad that you met a new friend :) That is so cool! Lulu.. Feeling pretty comes from inside, don't hide your light! Anndoodle.. Nice job! keep up the great work :)
my fiance is getting out of the army in august (unless the decided to send him back to iraq) so i want to look really good for when he comes home to texas ( he is stationed in GA)
That's a great goal Scorchin. Good luck to you. I am getting motivated again because it's warming up.
yep! time to hustle is now! snow is melted and summer is just around the corner.
I'm anorexic, so I go to pro-ana sites and they have good "trigger pics" of thin people and some of fat people, and just seeing visuals like that helps me, I guess.
Hi everyone, The thing that keeps me motivated is knowing that my wedding is coming up in October. I want to feel good on the day and not worry if I'm looking fat in the dress. I also want wedding photos that I can look back on and not cringe at - lol  Good luck everyone with your weightloss and never give up!!
