W00T W00T Let's hear it for the bronx bombers!!!! Great thread Kiara.. even if you and I are the only ones on here.. Hmmm.. Well.. lets see we lose Soriano and gain PayRod. Actually it isn't a bad deal since Steiny can afford it. Texas got the raw end of the deal. While I agree with you that we have lost a "very good" second baseman, we have gained perhaps the greatest infielder in the current era of the game. With Jeter and A-rod, the left side of the infield where 68% of all balls are hit to or through is fortified as well as has ever been in the history of the game. Add to that the power behind the bat, with a small sacrifice in speed (Soriano was faster) I think we did pretty well. It will be interesting to see how the other ball clubs will adjust their lineups against this defensive posture the Yanks will have. I don't think we'll feel the loss from the standpoint of the ballclub.. but from an emotional tie to Soriano.. I'm sad to see him go. AF lll
i'm no yankees fan, but i'm guessing a-rod will continue having the same big career he always has.
I am extremly happy :D that we got A-rod. I just think that we could have found a way to get him and keep soraino. I will miss him. On to pitching It doesnt seem that we have that good of pitching this year. That realy scares me. We can have have the best offence in the world(Which by the way we do)but we could still sink without pitching. I hope that the pitching staff gets it together by the end of spring training. If the pitching comes through this could be the best team in baseball history. GO YANKEES Kiara
Unfortunately, the best offense in the world won't win ballgames. Starting pitchers, mid relievers, closers and good managers win games. I think that this year will be a shuffle and test ground for the Yankees.. then the administration will get a lot of flack from the fans, the admin will make some adjustments based on what happens this year and then the following year you are going to see something we haven't seen in baseball since the late twenties. Any opinoins on the yanks playing in japan? I enjoyed the games agianst the japanese teams but i dont think that it was a good idea for them to play regular seasons games. The Jetlag must be brutal. Also Because they want to have time to recover the next game wont be until tuesday. Though the season just started i am already addicted to it and will suffer major withdrawls over the next couple of days. :( Kiara
