Ok.. I'm a sucker for accents.. to bad I can't hear yours.. lol But seriously... you might try this post in the Low Cal forum... I don't know the answer to your question but some of the posters in there might! Best to you! AF lll
probably about 1250-1500 calories are sufficient. especially if you derive a lot of those calories from vegetables. lot of chicken and salad should really help :)
thanx addidasfreak and big boy.. bigboy i'm a vegertarian so chicken salads???? anywayz cheers sheikha
Hello! Have you tried tofu? This is a good source of protein, and won't violate being a vegetarian. Look for an interesting sauce to cook in/ with. I wish that I had a recipe or two to share with you, as I have had some really tasty tofu in my time, but it was bought prepared. It has a nice texture, too..
I like to say I'm a person who doesn't eat anything that walks :) I'm not a true vegetarian because I do eat fish, eggs and dairy. But I've found that I'm eating more veggies than ever since I started my diet and I've been cooking things I've never made before. I used to be a 'pasta/cheese/tomato sauce' kinda person but I've cut those things out completely for the time being. I'll go back to them slowly once I get to where I want to be, but for now they're a no-no. I usually have 1 egg on 1/2 roll for breakfast and 1 slice of cheese for taste. I have a tuna sandwich with a teeny bit of mayo for lunch and sometimes either cottage cheese or baby carrots and cucumbers. For supper I'm usually totally veggie having 2 of either bok choi w/garlic, broccoli, stringbeans, mushrooms sauteed with onions, corn on the cob or asparagus. I have fruit after lunch too, or for snacks...strawberries, banana, apples, canteloupe. I'm running out of different kinds of veggies to cook, anybody have suggestions on what other kinds are good?
Queenbee.. thanks i will give Tofu a go i have heard about it and ate it onc ebut have no idea how to cook it.. will ahve to look for some cool recipes and wills hare them with you too ok :) thanks:0 Angeles, my menu is more like cereal for breakfast, 2 low cal slice sof bread with loads of salad for lunch a cereal low cal bar as a snack and then a indian dinner but as little as i cna eat at night with my hubbya nd daughter. shiekha
shyam-- i am also a veggie and i love to get the frozen stir fry vegitables in a bag, there are other varieties that come with rice and noodles. its great for a quick fix and its only 110 cals in a 1 cup serving. you could also dress it up with soy sauce or sweet and sour sauce. another good item low in cal is mixed bean soup. that also comes in a bag...near the rice and boxed potatoe isle...just boil the beans and eat it with your low cal bread. lots of fiber so you will feel very satisfied with a small meal. i'll post more later!!!
Thanks Frail.. were do you live uk or usa? i live in the UK i was just wondering incase u dont then the stuff we get in our supermarkets would be different. thank you though
silly me i live in the u.s. but im sure you can get similar products. i think they are essentials everywere.
Go veggie people! :) Tofu is good, there's lots of fake meats out there, and soymilk. And most are low calorie.
