Yesterday it was nice enough to put my youngest daughter in the stroller and pick up my oldest from school. Much to our surprise our bulbs we planted last fall are sprouting! Now this gives the 3 of us the incentive to go on what we call "looking for spring" walks. My girls are 6 & 2-1/2 years old. It's never too early to get your kids out there walking with you. Now, it's not the power walking that I like to do by myself but we do get some sprints in there. Like, we race from our house to the corner to see if the bush has buds ready for blooming. (my kids are nature nuts!) And believe me pushing a stroller & running for almost a block does get your heart pumping. What ideas do you have to get your kids involved? I've seen other members posting about having kids and having problems getting time in for exercising. Maybe we can all give them some ideas. I have to exercise with my kids. Maybe it's just the spring fever! :D EllieFunt

How about a Frisbee? That seems like something kids would have fun with.

Frisbee is great but far too stationary to be of much use for excercise... although the kids will gladly walk to and from the park if they know they get to play frisbee! Oh.. and a word of advice.. buy a camelback for water for you and the lil ones. AF lll

I don't know, playing frisbee with my kids is quite a work out! They can't throw too straight so I'm always running for the frisbee! Then it becomes a game, who can make Mom run the most! I think they're out to get me. Ellie

if you have girls, taking turns jumping rope is another old school way to get some exercise. or get jump ropes for everyone, so you don't have to take turns :) We used to do contests when we were kids, see who could go the longest without messing up. i haven't tried jumping rope in a while, but another idea
