Weight Loss & Water Need I drink gallons of water when dieting? Dehydration and how to avoid it Whether you are dieting or not, it is always important to take in sufficient fluids in order to avoid dehydration. For most people in a medium climate, 6-8 glasses of water per day is about right. Water when dieting There are at least four reasons why water is important when dieting. Initial weight loss is largely the result of loss of water This lost water needs replacing, to avoid dehydration. The rate at which we burn calories (our metabolism) is a chemical process requiring water We need adequate water to ensure the smooth functioning of this process. Water helps to flush toxins out our system The more toxins in our body the less capable it is of losing weight Water helps to prevent constipation Healthy dieting means eating lots of fiber. However, unless we drink enough water, a raised fiber-intake can cause constipation. Maximize weight loss If you are dieting, keep your system functioning properly and maximize weight loss by drinking 8 glasses of water per day. Warning! Please do NOT use water as an appetite suppressant or a substitute for food.


water can act as a mild appetite supressant. at least if your belly is full with water it's less likely that you'll be hungry.


Water is the liquid of life! The more you drink, the better you will feel. Anytime I OD on chocolate or sweets the next day I can't seem to drink enough water. My mouth feels so weird. Not sure if any one else here ever notices this happen to them?

Orange Tang was the drink of the astronauts. It's packed with Vitamin C.

yea, water is really important to your body, not just for weight loss but to keep everything running smoothly. because our body is like 80% water it is necessary to keep your kidneys and other organs functioning properly. :D April
