Hello everyone! This is my first post here, but not the last I hope. Anyway, I don't know if you discussed this diet already but I would like to share this with you anyway. Also, English is not my first language so I apologise for any mistakes  So for those of you who havent heard about it, Moon diet is basically about fasting for 24 hours, starting from the time Moon enters a specific phase. Within these 24 hours you are not allowed to consume any solid food, but you should drink as much water as possible. You can also drink juice but fresh only with no sugar or additives. Alcohol and milk are strictly forbidden. Anyway, within 24 hours you can lose up to 6 lbs if you follow it correctly. As opposite to starving, which only causes the opposite effect, one-day fasting has proven to be a great way to detox your body and improve your immunity. No undesirable effects have been noticed yet. I would definitely recommend it as I've tried it and it worked great for me. The main thing about this diet is not to lose weight, which is only a pleasant side effect :) but to detox yourself and make you feel fresh. Since Moon changes once a week, if you practice this diet every week, you can lose up to 24 lbs a month and feel great about yourself. However I would not recommend it more than twice a month, as it takes time for your body to adjust. Of course, you should stick to a balanced diet in between fasting periods. I've lost about 15 lbs in about a month following this diet and havent gained anything back, thanks to a balanced diet. I still have about 10 lbs to lose but I'll take my time as my plan is to get rid of sufficient weight until summer. I've a hectic lifestyle and don't have time to cook special food or stick to rigid schedules as most diets require. So I found this to be a great way to control my weight and feel better. The next Moon change is on Friday, Feb 20, starting at 9:18 a.m. GMT. Drink only liquids - water and fresh juice - until Sat 21, 9:18 a.m. and see for yourself. I hope you'll like it :)

that sounds like a pretty cool diet! thanks for sharing :) :welcome

That sounds cool and i would love to try it but my family has had some eating disorders in the past and wold more than likely have me commited for a physc evaluation if they saw me go with out food for 24 hours

hello and welcome! moon diet? never heard of that one. how long does it take to lose the weight? does it happen the next morning? the next day? the next week? maybe i'll give it a try and see what happens.

If you'd like to know more, I'll try to explain it the best I can. Gravity of the Moon influences oceans and rivers but also body fluids. When Moon changes phases, during the first 24 hours this influence has the greatest potential as it takes 24 hours for magnetic field of the Earth to change. All this makes your body let go of the excess fluids. If you let your body "breathe" for a day, you will lose all the unnecessary water and toxins which are being accumulated in your body as a result of an unhealthy diet, bad digestion and stress. This waste material also makes you gain fat easier. It's important to stress out that by following this what you could hardly call a diet [i:c3eafea0ec]you don't lose fat[/i:c3eafea0ec]. You still need to be active and be careful about what you eat. But as I said before, it's a great way to detox your body and introduce a healthy lifestyle. I'd recommend it as a good introduction to a diet because if you notice a large improvement on the scale in just one day, it will boost your self esteem a lot, which makes losing weight/fat a lot easier. It's also a good idea to help you move from the "plateau", you know when you feel you have reached a glass ceiling and no matter how much you try you can't seem to lose any more weight (that's so frustrating!). Anyway Friday is soon, it's just one day, try it and see if it works for you. Good luck to you all! :D

hey ive just come back to these forums and guess what ive missed the feb 20th moon change.......so do you no the next one?as i really want to give this a go.so ye do you notice changes straight away? this sounds cool anyway!

I'm pretty sure its every friday. So you would start friday 5 9:18am to sat 6 9:18am. I'm thinking bout trying this too. :)

ok thank you!

does this rly work? it jst seems liek your starving yourself...and going by the moon? isnt that liek astrology or something...i uno it just seems 2 good 2 be tru

i'm confused..why can't you do it any other day of the week? why just the moon days? sounds like a good diet though..think i'll get it a try

I don't know if that would work or not I would try it but I just love food too much. I think around 6pm that day I would be just about ready to faint. I wish there was an easier way :(

Well, this is extremely interesting - but how do you find out when the moon changes occur? Thanks!

would i be able to drink a few cans of slimfast on this? it would be 660 calories- but it's liquid! would it still work the same or a little less?

:welcome ZloUbojitoBice ( i zdravo  ) This diet does work, and you can lose up to 4-5 lbs in 24h, but the main goal is not weight loss- it is detoxication. My doc recommended it to me as an excellent way to detoxicate ,since our body is in phase with the moon cycle.( he is not much into alternative, but he said this thing really worked) However, it is efficient only during full moon, so one can not lose much weight. The detoxication/ stress reduction is the main goal, and the weight loss is just another pro- however, it's not fat, it's mostly liquids. It is efficient if you're on Atkins, because Atkins incorporates lots of fat/ protein, and this can be a stress-free day for your digestive system. You can not drink Slim Fast or meal replacements.

Thanks, Nerd - you were very helpful. Guess I just might get a calendar of the moon phases now! :D

Here is a web site I found on it. Problem is you can't print it out. Go ahead and try and see what happens  !! Any way here is the linkhttp://www.barreto.com/moon2004.asp The times need to be converted from pacific to what ever your time zone is. Good luck. I am going to start it at the end of the month, going out for my birthday want to have a few drinks

when is the next full moon?

o.o come on! I need to lose weight and I wanna do it your way! Great, thanks for sharing...

Hi! I know this is a little late but the moon changed today at 8:54 am .. and it's 6:38 p.m. right now, can i start it now? I don't suppose I can right? I'll have to wait till the 28th? Also, is green tea allowed during this diet?

That is how I read it. If you don't start at the precise time it won't work. I guess we could both try it next month?

Yeah good idea! I guess I'll just wait. I just lost control today and ate three pieces of chocolate pie. I feel sick and out of control. UGH. The worst part is I did the same thing two days back. Anyone have tips on how to move away from that? And losing control twice can't screw me over that much right?

Beetlebumz dont feel to bad abour lossing control a couple of times, everyone does. The importent thing is not to make a habit of it. Maybe you can keep a couple of the small tootsie rolls around and if you get a craving for chocolate you can eat that instead of the cake. Good luck[/color:977bf4355d] [b:977bf4355d][u:977bf4355d]Kiara[/u:977bf4355d][/b:977bf4355d][/color:977bf4355d]

Just try to do better today. Those 4 packs of single serving chocolate puddings come in handy when I get a craving. I try to eat only 1, and eat it slow so I enjoy it. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

Hi everybody :D I'm new here and english is not my first language, so sorry for all mistakes ( and i am afraid there will be plenty of them  ) beetlebumz, any kind of unsweetened tea is allowed (it is not recomended to use any kind of sweeteners, cause the purpose of the diet is detoxination) and green tea could be the best choise  also using all special kinds of tea that help loosing weight and beating cellulate problemmes is extremly desireable in these 24 hours as for juices... some of them are alowed, but not all :? so i wouldn't risk it... instead drink fruit tea, for example good luck to you... and to everyone

Thanks for that info, Alesandra :) :welcome to the forums! Have you had success on this diet? I know the full moon is coming up quick and I wouldn't mind giving it a try for the heck of it..

Thanks QB :) :) :) No, but my friend's mom's been on this diet for several months and she gave me all information. She is about 40 or 45 years and doesn't have some big problemmes with her weigt, just uses this diet to maintain her curent state and says it's grate against cellulate, her skin gets purer, she simply loves it! She looses aproximetly 1 kg (thats about 2.2 pounds) in a day and eats normaly all others... It is true that some people can loose 3 kg (6.6 pounds), but not all - it depends on a persone, most people loose 2 to 4 pounds and that is mainly water, so don't expect too much! It's just an aditional thing you can do, make yourself feel better and get some extra motivation! 8) 8) 8) Me is starting today... The moon is chaging in two hours, in my time zone... :)

good luck to you :) i think the full moon is at 9 am or something here today. after that no food for 24 hours, right?

Has this worked for anyone? Honestly, can it work? I'm curious. Thanks for replying.
