they lack excitement. too tough to sell for the marketers.
That's basically true. They lack that "magic" feel that most weight loss programs require. People feel better when they are buying products that reveal a trick to them.
you got that right ! :D
I am not so sure that low calorie is a no brainer..... I personally find it hard to get the nutrients I need(I take centrum silver each day) and havea variety and induldge my cravings once in a while(ie ice cream[blue bunny]) also being glucose intolerant makes eating low calorie real fun! but I do know that it is definately worth the effort to me Lady D
i agree with ladydraggin. i don't think low calorie diets in and of themselves are a no brainer. the idea behind them - the concept...you need to burn more calories than you take in in order to lose weight, so the idea is either to up exercise or lower the amount of calories you're taking in...that's not too hard to grasp. the problem lies in dealing with your own metabolism (mine's gone on permanent holiday), getting enough nutrients, dealing with cravings, not getting dehydrated, and not eating too little. it's easy to become obsessed with the numbers, which is not a good thing.
Pandora you forgot one thing too. the inevitable FALLING OFF THE WAGON it has ahppened to me and I am having a heck of a time getting back on I was real good for a year and 1.5 months and then something triggered me I have no idea what to eat more grrrr. now I am trying oh so hard tog et back on the wagon it is one of the reasoms that I havent been posting I am dealing withthis and I dont feel I can give advice until I straighten my self out. But I have faith that I will get back on the calorie count bandwagon but I am keeping good thoughta and wishes for all of those who are still sticking to it and envying you all too I just need to re adjust my mind set that is all take care Lady D
LadyD.. Don't despair girl. :) Everyone has good days and bad days. When you've let things go for a while it always seems harder to get back on the straight and arrow. The good thing is it is nothing more than a choice that we make every morning when we get up. It's like making the decision to go into work. Most people don't question whether or not to go to their jobs on a daily basis. We just do. Of course we always have the option to call in sick or take a day off, but then we are confronted with the reasons not to. Like our paychecks being short, or getting in trouble with a boss, or no one there to take our place if we don't show up, etc. If you think in terms of how eating bad or not exercising will affect us down the road maybe our choices would be different? At any rate, it is really good to have you back and hope that you will continue down the road of success. Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life!
