Just wondering if anyone here knows why sodium and salt is said to make us fatter? Thanks!

no idea. i'm not a scientist. but i do know most fat folks love salt so it can't be a co-incidence :)

I don't know a ton about it, but I do know that eating a lot of salt or sodium makes you retain water. Retaining water adds weight..

I know how they make salt, if that helps. But I don't think it does :)

Sodium chloride is known as table salt - or just salt. I'm not exactly sure why it would make us heavy, but it does play a role in blood pressure. One guess is that salt simply makes us eat and drink more. Bars and restaurants often serve free salty chips and peanuts because that will cause us to buy a drink. Then we eat more. Then drink more. Then eat. Then drink. And we start all over again the next day.
