hi. i don't have a lot of money to spend and i have weight to lose. it seems everthing is a sales pitch. i am currently raising a child on a small income and dont have the money. will i still be able to lose weight.

You don't need a lot of money in order to lose weight. How old is your child? He or she can help you to lose weight! You see all of the energy that young kids have! Depending on their age you can do activities for "mom and me" time , also :D a good way to build your relationship with your child..

thats sweet kirsten i appreciate the encouragemnet

Henrietta.. keep your chin up! Where there is a will there is a way.. You don't need a lot of money to lose weight. A bike with a baby carrier (if your kid is lil) is a form of exercise..

Hen honey :) You DO NOT need to be rich to do weight loss. What you need to be is committed. There is a "poor man's" subsititute for any product you see with weight loss. I followed the Atkin's Diet, but I did not buy any of the pricey (IMHO) products he sells. Go with what you can afford and if you have any questions let me know and I'll be happy to share info.

I also know how you feel. Henrietta. Being a single mom leaves me with little extra energy or cash for costly gym.. I'm saving up to get a family membership to our local YMCA. The whole family can use it, and it's cheaper if you are a single parent...

It seems like every website I have gone to, looking for pointers is asking for money. I just need a little advice here and there, I don't want to pay for that. Thanks for letting me know that I can get help without putting out money.

Hello Lexiesmomma, The best things in life are free! That includes websites. Welcome aboard and good luck on your weight loss goals. BigAl

Thanks Big Al :)

Welcome Lexxiesmom! Good to have you.. and don't blame you for not wanting to pay! ( Because you shouldn't have to! )

Who wants to pay for something you can do free? Any time you see an infomercial touting the new greatest break-through in [b:909f2a159d]weight loss[/b:909f2a159d] you have to wonder who is getting paid and who is getting ripped. If there were a magical pill to take to cure being overweight, wouldn't everyone be thin?? A walk in the park is free and best shared with a friend!

I'm not sure where you get your information, but weight loss programs are pretty expensive in my neck of the woods.

I told this to someone else, but eating natural foods is a pretty cheap way to lose weight. Lots of fruits and veggies. Or like that one lady said..Atkins is good and you don't have to buy his products. If you can afford to buy lots of meat, cheese, eggs, green beans, lettuce etc.. then you can do okay. I do buy some of his products because it does help to have some variety, but it isn't exactly cheap. Maybe you might want to try "The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet". It allows you more carbs and allows you a reward meal where you can eat one junk food everyday and still lose weight.
