hello, I just purchased the vanilla flavored pro complex protein mix for shakes and I hate the smell and the taste, I spent alot for it and really don't want to give up on it fast, plus it is a very important part of my daily diet plan to lose weight the healthy way. Does anyone have any ideas, I have tried different fruits, and i use my blender to mix it up, i am at my wits end, please help. Thanks.

Years ago I had a chocolate protein shake and it too tasted horrible! I think the problem is that it lacks sugar. But as this is a protein shake, you don't want sugar - however, that doesn't mean you can't try sugar substitutes. I recommend trying Splenda or Stevia. See if they help.

yeah, thanks for the help, I have indeed tried splenda, and it still well, sucks!!! I am at my wits end with this stuff.ugg. lol but thanks for trying.

Hi! Another thing you might want to try is blending it with a fruit juice. Orange Juice would probably be the juice I would use. Doc was correct in saying that they are void in the sugar, which makes them taste icky. Just a thought! Good luck to you!

i will try it and let you know how it turns out.

How did you like it? Vanilla protein mixed with some pulpless orange juice is my favorite way to have it. It reminds me of a "push-up" Make sure you have a nice handheld blender to mix it up. This really makes a difference between having orange juice with chunks of protein floating in it, and a well blended protein shake. A lot of protein shake mixes say that you can mix them with a spoon, which you can, but the Hamilton hand blender really makes a nice smooth shake..

I like Vegefuel by twin labs. It's a soy protien powder un-flavored and about the consistency of baby powder. It dissolves best in milk and I usually add some sugar-free chocolate syrup to help the taste. I've never found that any protien shake tastes very good, but this one is better than most I've tried... asking them to taste like an ice-cream shake is really too much, but I've found you can cut some of the after-taste by using more milk or juice than the package recommends. I use skim milk and the calcium is just a plus, and I always drink it over ice.. the colder it is, the better it tastes. And I agree with Jolene, definitely invest in a little hand blender. It drastically reduces chunks and makes a much more drinkable shake. One thing learned though, protien is great and necessary, but just like carbs, if you eat too much of it, it will be stored as fat unless you execercise enough. Though, unlike carbs, it won't bother your insulin levels by turning into sugar first.

Do you use that as a meal replacement? Or more as a supplement to a regular modified diet?

(my longer workout days are Sat and Sun)

That's a really excellent idea!
