is actually about the same size as your fist? I don't know about anyone else here, but I have a pretty small fist!!!

I thought that I heard that somewhere. That isn't a lot of room!!

I don't know about you, but I think my stomach's a Hulk Hogan fist.

lol@sapphyre

That's true, but when you increase what you eat in a day your stomach gets slightly bigger, or if you decrease it becomes smaller. Although, that is a true fact there is some fine lines to it. Thanks for the tip though! -Veronica

To Kirlaskia: You're sort of right. To the others: You're also sort of right. The stomach is about the size of your fist. However, it can stretch (in one meal sitting) to several times the size of your fist. Over time, if you ALWAYS eat really big portions, it becomes like a de-elasticized rubber band, and it stops going back into place. If you stop eating such big portions, it will eventually "shrink" back to it's proper size (hence why you hear some people say their stomach is shrinking). From what I understand, it doesn't usually shrink to smaller than fist sized. The idea behind anorexia is that it gets used to not stretching to accomodate food (and it's psychological). With Bulemia, it gets used to the muscles working in reverse (and again, psychological). With the new weigh-loss surgery, part of the stomach is removed so that it actually IS smaller, and you really are limited to how much you can eat. Over a number of years, however, it can again stretch if you aren't careful. Hope I helped :)
