Hey everyone! Ok I am day 3 of the Carbo Addicts diet and I haven't cheated! I had a major nervous breakdown on monday and I sooooo wanted chocolate! But I didn't eat any. I went to the store last night and bought some low carb stuff. I read athe entire book now and I still think I must be missing something. In the book it said that most people lose 2 - 3 lbs the first week and I still weigh 150!!! This is very discouraging and I don't know if maybe I am doing something wrong. Has anyone ever been on the Carbo Additics diet and do you have any hany tips? I am about ready ti say %^&* it and give up.

Are you drinking enough water? Also, try not to weigh yourself until you have been on it a full week. I weigh myself and measure myself weekly and make sure that I weigh and measure about the same time every week and on the same day. I agree it is hard not to take a peek at the scale! For me, if I weigh mid-week, and I don't see a difference I start thinking I'm failing. Hang in there!! You will see a difference, if not on the scale, then in inches!

Hey Lucifina, If you have been strict then nothing to worry about. I agree with Charity, don't get too excited about weighing yourself every day. Take your time and you should do well. I had a friend who lost 50 pounds using that exact diet so I know it works.

:D Yea! Well that is encouraging! I got 30 to lose so I hope it works. The book said to weigh yourself everyday though, and the average your weight for the week but I might wait till the weekend before I weigh myself again.

Anything in life requires some time. Don't get too upset if you know that you are doing all of the right things. I think that is why people have problems on any "diet". If you don't see the results you are looking for right away, you get discouraged. If you get discouraged, its human nature to want the things you know you shouldn't have. Having the power to say no is what will keep you on the right track! I will keep you in my thoughts, Lucifina. [b:f89054d50e]I know that you are a very powerful person and you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish![/b:f89054d50e]

Yeah. You average yourself and then check week by week. It makes a big difference. Daily weight flucuations are enough to drive yourself crazy. If you weigh yourself more than once in a day you will get different weights. Nothing to worry about.

Definitely cut back on the weighings. Makes everything tougher.

Thank for all the encouragment but I must confess, I couldn't take it anymore!!! I was miserable being low carb. I want to lose weight but I also would like to be happy too, maybe I am asking too much but I think I should just cut back and get my big butt in gear and start exercizing everyday!

same conclusion i came to and others: low carb sort of sucks. cut calories a bit, portion size, etc and start the exercising. eat healthy: i.e. vegetables, salads, fruits, lean meat and many more. you know: the type of food that makes you feel better!

:D Yeah I love fruit & veggies and I can live off of salads so I am reall, really, really gonna try hard. I did it before so I can do it again!

Of course you can do it. Just find a plan that is do-able for you and stick to it. It is okay to screwup occassionally, just not all the time. You can do it!

Hi every body, I am a new kid on the block, but I have to agree with BigBoy, that cutting back, and exercising is right in there. I have been on a watch my carbs, and low fat, diet, for a week now, I have not weight myself yet, but I feel different, and my friend told me that I look like I lost weigt, we will see on Monday when I weigh myself. I dont know what kind of diet to try, there is so much out there, and I dont want to wait months for results. I dont want to count points. I weigh my meat so that it does not weigh more than 4oz, and vegies are always on the menu, I almost cut out all breads, I dont eat cookies cakes, desserts in general, other than fruit. Help Heidieho

try to eat more whole foods. the less processing the better. eat the foods that are gentle to your system. usually the more natural the food is, the better it is for you. vegetables are number one. eat more of them and less of anything that's heavily processed and mostly fat and /or sugar. those simple tips will help you cut fat.
