hello koko :welcome i am not familiar with that diet. please fill us in on it.
hi Bigboy, Well this diet is based on the glycemic index of carbs. For example sugar has a glycemic index of 100 and apples have 35. You don't have to count calories or the amount of food that you eat. You may eat any amount of protein, fat and carbs with glycemic index of 35 and lower. Furthermore, there are some combinations that you must avoid. I bought a book about this diet but I have a feeling that there are more about it that are not mentioned, so this is why I asked you if you knew more about it. So, any help is more than wellcome.
Hi Koko. I'm not sure about this diet. I know people that have done really well on the system mentioned below. They live by it because it works. I hope you find that whatever diet you do, you will have more energy and enjoy your life.
Koko, This diet is based on an approach used amongst diabetics for many years and measures foods according to how much blood sugar or glucose the food item releases into the body. There is reams of info about blood sugar and the effects of insulin but essentially the glycemic index measures glucose as 100 and all other foodstuffs fall somewhere below this. As mentioned, the lower the GI of the food the better it is for you. This is either because the food itself has a lower sugar content or takes longer for the body to process and digest, which means that the sugar is released over a longer period of time. :D brief I know but hope it helps. regards Ron
