You can't eat fruit on a low carb diet. Not at the beginning.
If you had that bad of a reaction, maybe low carb isn't the one for you. What "diet" are you following?
some diets work for one person, and fail miserably for another. If the one that you are following right now is making you fell sick, that would indicate it probably will not work for you long term, or short term for that matter.. Have you started a food journal of any sort? This might help you figure out where extra calories are coming from. Write down everything you put in your mouth, even a stick of gum has calories and sugars that aren't accounted for. I think that a lot of people discount the beverages that they drink in a day. A bottle of pepsi can wreck the atkins diet with one gulp. Sodas are packed with sugars and calories that may be overlooked. Nice to meet you! :)
low carb definitely means no fun for me. for fun i recommend the HIGH carb diet of cookies and cakes. it will make you fat, but it sure does taste good. all kidding aside, i think many people feel like you do.
You might be getting headaches because you aren't feeding your body what it is used to. I am following the Atkins diet and I agree with what has been said, it isn't for everyone. Look into different diets and you might find something that will work better for you. In the beginning of Atkins, induction, you are breaking your addictions and teaching your body to burn stored fat instead of relying on taking in additional carbs for energy. You cannot have fruit in the beginning of this. I have a feeling that you might not have the book(s). You really do need to get the reading material for any diet that you take on, such as Atkins or South Beach. Make sure you read the material before starting!! From experience I can tell you that low carb isn't fun in the beginning, but it DOES become fun later when you see the weight coming off. I find it especially fun when you get to go shopping for the new clothes!!!! Charity
for sure read the book. you will miss way too much by skipping the reading.
You have to at least know the basics of any diet you are attempting.
I am very interested to see some long term studies on how "low carb" diets affect the body. There are now literally millions of people on the diets and I'm not sure we understand the outcome.
I have to admit that I'm amazed at Internet dieters. They don't have time to actually read the book! They don't have an awful lot of follow up from what I can see either :)
