1 [i:be2ddfc249]pound[/i:be2ddfc249] is equal to 3500 [i:be2ddfc249]calories[/i:be2ddfc249]. So that means for every [b:be2ddfc249]3500 calories[/b:be2ddfc249] you eat, you can GAIN a pound, and For every [b:be2ddfc249]3500 calories[/b:be2ddfc249] you burn, you lose a pound! So, if you were to cut a mere 500 calories a day from your diet a DAY you should be able to lose 1 [b:be2ddfc249]pound [/b:be2ddfc249]per week!!

Thanks alot for the tip. I use that to help me keep going if I want to lose that extra pound. Your great.

There are people who eat 4000+ calories a day, but are in great shape due to their high level of exercise. A resting body still burns quite a bit of calories every day, but an active body burns a LOT more! The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. To lose weight, though, reduce your calories by 500 (or more), and then [b:184ef15e28]add[/b:184ef15e28] exercise. The benefits of a good work-out (like circuit training weight-lifting, where you have no more than 60 seconds between sets of repetitions) can be felt for up to 2 days after working-out! So be sure to get some exercise! A reduced calorie diet with exercise, regardless of what you eat, will guarantee weight loss!

Good call! The theory: "A body in motion tends to stay in motion" Correct?

3,500 sounds like alot..lol. I play soccer and I'm about to start a diet (eating salads, tuna fish, and special k..also alot of water). I just want to lose about 10-15 pounds. But i just want to know if running is better than any other exercise????.. and if it is I'm going to run 3 miles everyday. 8O 8O 8O 8O
