Here's a list: Eggs Steak Cheese Turkey/Chicken Bacon Sausage You don't need to buy any special products at all. Stick with the basics and only spend what you can afford. There is always a subsitute that is equally effective.
Coo, thanx! I just can't get over eating all that meat! It goes against every other diet I have been on. :o

I just don't know what to do. I have already screwed up on my diet big time. I suck so bad!!! I have no Idea what diet I should be on.
Nah, hun, you don't suck. I had a very hard time with the low carb diet myself. I have been sticking with a lower calorie plan for around a month now. The weight loss hasn't been dramatic, but it has been steady.
You can look at the labels on most packages in the store. Hunt among the varieties that have lower carbs. Look for low starches in veggies. Avoid combining corn, potatoes, English peas, etc. that have higher starch (carb)levels. You need some carbohydrates, in moderations. Portion control also works wonders. My son-in-law (370 lbs) ate a whole cherry pie the morning after Thanksgiving. Poor choice.
I'm not a fan of low-carb diets as they are often SO high in fat. However, if you want to give it a go, I am seeing more and more products in stores catered to a low-carb diet. I found smaller bagels, which are lower in carbs (I buy these - same as ordinary bagels, just smaller). I have also seen low-carb frozen food entrees right next to the Lean Cuisines and SmartOnes. I forget the name brand, but it has a big "low carb" ad on the container - can't miss it. I found some low-carb syrup (this is only for the brave - it's made with sweeteners and not sugar, so it's rather watery) and ice cream that's fat-free and has no additional sugar added (Turkey Hill). This stuff is good. :) There are also all sorts of low-carb chocolates. I haven't tried them, but they look tasty. Look in the candy aisles for those. Good luck!
I love Smoked Pork Chops. You cant find them in most large grocery stores. I get mine from a local butcher along with the hard salami and the Sliced Honey Glazed ham. If you see something in a store that caims to be low carb I would be dubious. Processsed food is not that good for you. I wonder how many carbs are in Rice? A little ham and some onions and some rice and you have fried lice!
they have been saying that the low carb craze is falling out of favor. i think i understand why... i couldn't give up all bread, pasta and tatos for forever either.
Lots of products are springing up based on the popularity of low-carb dieting. Someone saw a way to a quick profit! Truth is, ordinary food from a normal source is fine. Regardless of which diet you follow, you need to eliminate 'simple carbohydrates' for the long term. A sensible amount of wholegrain bread will cause a lot less damage to your diet than filling youself up with white bread (or any other white flour product) If you think along the lines of what food it is possible to eat in it's raw state, you'll not go far wrong! Don't get too worried that you've 'blown your diet' We all fall off the wagon at some stage. As long as you try to change your eating habits to the right ones, you will reduce your carb. intake, and you will gradually see benificial results! Good luck!
