docu2.. if you've felt tired, don't be too upset that you haven't been working out as much. this time of the year my sinuses tend to act up, so i take every day one at a time. you do need to rest sometimes! if you are still following your diet, it isn't like you've gained back a lot of weight to worry about either. be happy with what you've done so far and set your next mini-goal. your bowflex is ready whenever you are! i try to focus on the positive. tommorrow is a new day! hang in there, we'll be here if you need us!!
I try to do little exercises at work. On my 10 minute breaks, I try to go for a walk. It might not be a superhero effort, but it gets in a little activity. There are some basic stretches and relaxation techniques I also use at my workplace. Again, not what I would consider a "superhero" effort, but it helps. I will be happy to post some of them if you are interested :D
Usually Friday is the day that I know I will struggle to do my exercise 'routine'. Friday I am usually going to the grocery store and then cleaning my house. In the middle of doing all of that I have to get the kids to school and then pick one up at lunch and then one up at 3:30. It is hard to do a regular routine that day. So I drag out my ankle weights and wear those pretty much most of the day, I don't wear them to the store though LOL. I also park as far away from the entrance to the store as I can and walk. Also, since I usually have a trunk full of groceries etc, I make sure to load up my arms and carry stuff in both hands to get a bit of arm exercise. It's not much but I still feel like I have done something! For me when I miss a day of exercise it feels like my day isn't complete now. And much harder to get back into my routine, even if missing just one day.
i have struggled with the same thing. point of fact, i have done much worse than you. i havent worked out for two weeks and i went on a dessert binge this weekend. its almost like i have to start all over again.
Nice way to add a little exercise, Charity. Turning everyday ( or once a week, as the case may be ) chores/ duties into something a little more challenging! BigBoy. Then I guess that you'll just have to start over. :? Weekends are really hard.. I always find myself wanting to raid the refrigerator when I'm bored. I try to keep this under control, but sometimes I give in.
Fortunately, my exercise lap was short. Last week, I did work-out on my BowFlex on Sun. and Tues. I walked on Tues. and Fri. and stuck to my diet the whole time. This week, I worked-out on Sun. and Tues. again. I went for long walks on Mon. and Tues. As it's only Wed., I'm doing pretty good! Plus, I'm sticking to my diet. This morning, when gently stepping on my home scale, I achieved yet another new low weight! It was floating around 242-243. When I stepped on the scale quickly, it bounced to 248 - which is still good news as it means I'm definitely in the 240's - almost a 40 pound drop from the 280's (where I started). So I guess this shows that even in a "slower" exercise week, if one can get *some* exercise and stick to all diet plans, the weight will keep coming off. :D
way to go doc! i plan on making a comeback myself. luckily i haven't gained any weight after my last re-lapse.
Happy to hear that you are back at it! The best thing to do is to "just do it" as the old Nike ads used to say. The quicker that you do it, the quicker you can recover from the "slack" How is your dogs diet going, BTW? Has he been able to shed anything, other than hair?
My dog still sheds oceans of hair every day (it's amazing he has so much hair to shed), but he seems to be doing better than I am! The vet confirmed, in Sept. that my dog lost about 10 pounds. Since that time, I've noticed physically that some "pockets of fat" he had on his side in front of his hind legs have been considerably reduced. So it wouldn't surprise me if he dropped another 5 or more pounds.
Good to see dogs "slimming" :)
