my work schedule is SO insane...I work two day shift and two night shifts, each one 9 hours and off 3...well the three off is not a problem, b/c I clean in the house or go out and do things...but the 4 working days are insane! especially right now b/c we have hit slow season and Im alone for one and BORED for another....what are some ideas? Thanks in advance!

I may have missed it in your post, but what kind of ideas are you looking for? Weightloss? Exercise? For weightloss, I would say that you would need to find something that will work for you. Read about some weightloss plans and find which one works for you (you can read about them, if your employer doesn't mind, on those days that boredom sets in). As for exercise, I would take a set of handweights with you to work, again if your employer allows it, and do some simple exercises with those. I use my hand weights while sitting down. I'm sure other people here would have some better advice, but I just do what I can!!!! Good luck!! Charity

thanks Charity...I am sure my post was confusing now that I re-read it :-) I just need some ideas on how to stay focused and how to plan meals for home while being on this roller coaster schedule and get an exercise routine. While I am working nights Im usually alone making it hard to get any exercise except for picking up pens pencils and the phone receiver. I am thinking of joining WW on Thursday<night> and I am also going to a TOPS meeting<Thursday morning>. Im not sure which one is for me...so we will see...The good thing is I have tons of support here and @ home...my hubby loves me regardless and is a good supporter.

As for planning meals, when I know I'm up for a hectic week, I spend one day making a few dinners that can be frozen and then re-heated. I know that isn't a prefered way of spending one's day off!!! I did this a lot when I was working. Now though, since I am on Atkins, I make some stuff that will either keep in the fridge for a few days or freeze it. I do this mainly because when I am cooking something for them, if I know I have something that can be re-heated, I am less likely to give in and eat what I have made for them. I also do variations of what my family eats. For instance taco night, I usually make a salad using lettuce, cheese and a bit of the hamburger meat...sometimes more toppings than that if I haven't gone over my limit on other veggies. I hope this helps if even a little bit. Charity
