I know, its scary. I was watching something about obesity on the Discovery Health Channel the other night and what they were saying scared me because I am so close to being morbidly obese. They also say that if Americans don't change their ways it could possibly kill more people than tobbacco every year! ~~~~~Geo
That's very true!! I personally get annoyed with people that are so anti-losing weight because they think its just so people will like how you look. Granted thats usually the main reason, but if you decrease in weight your risk of things goes down so much! I remember I was listening to a argument several months ago between two people. The woman was so fact-less! She was trying to say that she shouldnt have to loose weight for looks TRUE but, then she was trying to say that it held no different health risks than fit people. People need to get that fact more out in the open so they know that loosing weight is not only for looking better but lowering your death risk. If more people knew this fact, then theres a chance less would die in a year, ...by far! -Veronica
That is exactly why I'm losing weight right now, while I still have my good health. I'm under 18 and was once up to 335 pounds, I'm 6'4'' . Heaviest 335 Current 305 Memorial Day Goal 295 Long Term Goal 200
Happy to hear that you are being proactive about your weight, SlimDown. You are strong enough to turn everything around. The changes you make right now will make a big difference 5 years down the road. I support you in your quest to lose your weight. Being healthy is most important. No matter what your weight. A lot of times at the grocery store I see people using electric carts because they are too heavy to even do their shopping. This scares me enough not to want to be that person.
