You don't want to work out the same muscles every day. Every other day for the same groups.
I'm following the BowFlex plan - which, of course, uses the BowFlex machine. This plan encourages work-outs ONLY 3x a week. They stated that if a person works-out more than this, it could actually HURT one's fat loss goals! 8O I believe this is possible. If we are working out too much, our body may then convert to a "starvation" mode metabolism - thus saving as much fat as possible for our strenous exercises. That, of course, is not what we want. We want fat off now! I tend to work-out every other day. And believe me, it's enough! LOL! While I don't have lactic acid muscle soreness, I do have soreness just from using my muscles and having them grow! In other words, if you are like me, you won't have the energy/strength to work-out more than every other day. Of course, Henrietta's suggestion is a great one. Often people will do upper body work-out on one day, then lower body work-outs the next. If you can do this, then go for it! 8) Keep in mind, when you work-out, while you'll lose fat, you'll gain muscle. So if you feel great and think you are slimmer, but the scale shows that you haven't really lost much weight - chances are you are gaining muscle. This is a GOOD thing. Scales can be misleading... it's important to measure inches (can you fit in a smaller dress? do you have to tighten your belt? are your clothes loose?) too. Those of us who have a lot to lose (*raises own hand) may have a problem of excess skin when that weight comes off. By working out, we can keep our skin more tone (and not baggy), as the skin will stick to the new muscle we form by working-out. Also, the muscles we form will increase our metabolism, helping us to lose weight even more. Good luck!
