I am dreading the cold winter. I have lived in the Midwest my whole life and the weather has always been cold. It never bothered me until I got a bit older. Now I can barely take it!

the main part of winter i can't stand is the ..... freeeeeeeeeeeezing :)

Yes.... the freezing... and ... ... more freezing!

Thanks for cheering me up........... NOT! :o

COLD???? i hate the cold, i live in upper michigan and well long cold winters come with the taritory but i hate them anyways. i am not looking forward to driving to class in 30 below zoro weather(thats with the windchill, well sometimes) and the icy roads that go along with that too. hmmm i think i should rethink where i choose to live. oh well winter comes and goes the same way summer does. and summer will be back in a few months and i think by then i will be fit and trim and wearing a 2 piece swim suit insted of my old granny looking one piece. woooo whoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyways keep warm and think summery thoughts :P

Might be time to move. I know it sounds radical but people move to the warmer weather all the time. Of course it depends on your job and other conditions. Move to Phoenix. Its 110 most days. Soon you will be complaining about the heat :)

My sympathy to those of you entering winter ... you could try Australia .. we are just into spring and headding for summer :D Just finished our winter, where I live it dropped to nearly freezing a couple of times .. but not below freezing. The snow was on the mountains where you could visit it if you wanted to :D Regards Bob

I don't think I could get used to that! I'm used to July being hot and January being cold.

eventhough i hate the winters, i dont think i would like a christmas with no snow well there have been a few here but a day or 2 after it always snows its after february when the snow gets sicking i remember one year when we had 3 feet of snow on halloween a few years later we had a few feet on easter but hey thats life in upper michigan you get use to it after awhile

Maybe it will be a mild winter this year. It might actually be nice.

thats not likely they are calling for a nasty cold winter this year

I remember when I was a kid. I used to LOVE the winter. I looked forward to being in the snow, playing. I was never cold. I didn't even wear a hat or gloves most of the time. Now I can barely stand it. What the heck happened?

you got old 8)

[quote:6ef2876d0d="IM_NOT_FAT_IM_FLUFFY"]you got old 8)[/quote:6ef2876d0d] Yeah, I know :)

thats ok i am only 24 but somedays like today i feel like i am 80

Under 30 is still young. 30 to 40 is getting bad. 40 is old! No offense to any of the other old farts out there. But when I was in my 20s my lifestyle was pretty bad. Smoking, drinking, you named it. I did it all. So many days I felt like crap. Now that I am old and boring and take better care of my health I actually feel better than I used to. But Winter still sucks, in any event :)

maybe had i not done alot of those bad things in my earlier years (teens) i wouldnt be in the shape i am in now

40 is old, BigAl? Then I am ancient! :!:

Makes two of us, Henrietta :D Matured, like fine wine .. not old ... Bob

"old" is in the eye of the beholder. i agree about getting better, not just older :)

you guys talking about being old made me think of something funny. my mom use to get offened when i call her old, so i tried to come up with some wqay of saying old nicely and the best i came up with was "aged" (wich shocked her) but when my dad added "aged? like cheese" she got mad but just came back with no like fine wine yer the old cheese. i thought it was cute and just had to share it

I remember when I was a kid, living up in the northern part of BC, Canada, we use to get some brutal winters. I'll never forget waking up one morning and our fron bay window on the house was almost completely covered in snow. One morning, I woke up to -45c temperature and I said, "Screw this! I'm outta here!" I moved to the west coast and I have never looked back. Yes, it rains more but at least rain means it's not freezing outside!

I like the decisiveness! I am generally too wishy washy to make a decision like moving off and not coming back. However, if this winter is bad enough, I may do just that!

Farmers Almanac is calling for one of the coldest winters in a while. According to them, they are right about 85% of the time, so I guess we'll see!!

great thats just what i needed to hear

Let's hope that are wrong! Who can predict what the weather is going to be like anyhow??

O.K., being the freak that I am - I love the winter! However, that comes with a caveat - I only love winter when it is snowy and cold. If the winter is mild or has very little snow, then it's just a series of seemingly endless dreary, short days. There's no snow to make the world look spectacular. There's no cold to keep you crisp and make you appreciate warmer days. In other words, for me, the cold and snow help make the winter great. Plus, I'm not a big fan of summer. Sure, I love the beautiful sunny days... but often summer is just one humid oven. I live in MA and we had a relatively "cool" summer (i.e., not many days over 90), but probably the most humid summer in my time here. And it truly is the humidity that makes things bad. When we have summers like this, I long for the cold winter weather. Of course, if this diet goes as well as I hope, maybe next summer I'll finally be thin enough to have fun on a beach! Maybe then I'll have a new appreciation for summer - but I'll still like winter. I just can't imagine the holidays without cold and snow (and it does happen, but not that much).

Every season has pros and cons. Short gray days are a bummer. I'd rather be enjoying summer!! I'm a poet and didn't know it!!

its not the cold and the snow that i hate about winter its more the ice and to be specific the icey roads i mean i have a half hour drive to any major city (one with a walmart or other store like that) and driving on icy roads and having to worry about stupid deer running out in front of you is no fun at all
