Hi all. I just joined today. I am 36 and just started back to school. My problem is that I am FAT!!!! I weigh 258 at the doctor last month adn I am very depressed about it!!! My husband tells me that I am beautiful and we have a wonderful sex life, it is just me. I have been overweight for years. I have tried diet after diet and they work for a while and then I just get tired of watching this and that and then before I know it I am bigger than I was. I need help!!! I do not eat alot. I really don't. That is what confuses me and I had a check up so it is not chemicals being out os whack. SO what can it be and does someone have any advise for me??? Thanks

Hi Rebecca When I started reading your posting I thought I was reading about myself. I am the same age and almost the same weight as you lost a few pounds, but not enough. I am also just about to start university full time, what are you going to study. We are not fat, but well proportioned and cuddley. I too have difficulty sticking to diets and in the past have always ended up putting on more weight than I have lost. My biggest problem is my calorie intake is bigger than my calorie expendature, and when you eat more calories than you use you put on weight. I am determined to use more calories than I eat, because I want to lose weight. Dieting is never easy and being over weight for years I know how you feel. I am sure with some determination and the help and support you get from the people on this site you will be able to lose weight. Take care

Hello Rebecca and Loobe! Nice to meet you fine folks :D You are not alone in your quest to lose weight. Have you ever kept a food journal to track how many calories you are taking in on a daily basis? I was amazed by how many I was actually eating when I journalized it. I never really counted calories from pop, candy and all of the other "little" things I consumed during the course of the day. Peace and Love- QB

Me too! I figure that if I just keep starting over - As in... OK I blew that but let me start now. That eventually I'll find what works for me. In the past, it was frozen dinners. Less time thinking about food. Unfortunatly, now I hate them. I just try to keep vegies and fruit handy. I keep a food journal and track my calories and exercise.

I've had to start over several times in a row now. that is defintely tough to do and gets harder each time you do it. but you have to be reasonable with yourself. if you make a mistake just move on. everyone makes mistakes. i think the journal is the key. it's too easy to get "stuck" with weight loss and think that you've been doing the diet right if you don't keep records. if you keep accurate records you will realize right away where you went wrong.

Hey Rebecca, Almost everyone is fat nowadays and getting fatter. You need to make a commitment and follow through. Like anything else. Decide what's important and set your goals. Good luck!
