hi karney, it appears to be yet another book based on low carb. i looked around the internet but mostly found commercial info. if i find something else I will update. have a nice day.
Thanks Big Boy I still havent found any thing on it yet, I guess I'll have to break down and buy the book and then decide if thats the way I'm going to go. If I decide that this diet is healthy ,I'll be sure to let everyone know Karen
there is very little info I can find on this one, so it looks like you may need to pick up the book. my guess is it will follow many of the same principles of all the low carb diets: count your carbs and protein. limit the number of carbs to a certain fixed amount and lower your blood sugar levels in the process. if you're at the bookstore anyway, grab a Protein Counter book and a notepad to keep records. that has been helping me a lot. good luck to you!
the book called the 40-30-30 fat burning nutrtion can answer your questions regarding this matter. Trust me I started and it's not a diet as much as it is a way of eating for th erest of your life,. I think you should really look into it it will help you a lot. GO to amazon.com or ebay and type in that tile you'll find it. I hope I was helpful. Take Care nabiab  :D
Thank you, I seen it on ebay, but it didn't tell me a whole lot about it.I wanted to learn more about it to see if it would be the healthiest way for me to lose weight. Since you've been on it, how is it working for you? That is what I need,is a way of life if I am going to get healthier. Thanks for the info Karen
I have found a lot of info about this type of eating style under "Glycemic Index". (What I got out of it) Basically you must eat carbs with protein. No carb should be eaten alone. So if you eat an apple, you should have a piece of cheese with it (or some other protein). Carbs are not off limits but you must eat them in the correct portion with the correct protein. They do suggest skipping white baked potatoes. This is definitely not a “weight loss” diet. You can loose weight but it’s more of a life change. Meaning once you loose weight you can’t go back to eating “normally”.
I read more of the "IRD" book last night. You can have up to 30 grams of carbs per meal or snack but must have at least 14 grams of protein with it. You can eat more protein but not more carbs. 15 grams of carbs is a serving size while 7 grams of protein is a serving size. You must eat every 3 to 5 hrs but can't eat within a 2 hr window of eating. They suggest lower fat milk products that can be eaten alone, because they have carbs and protein in them. Most veggies are "free" but starchy veggies must be eaten with protein (corn, pea's & sweet potatoes.) Fats are not too much of an issue and either are calories, although this got a little confusing??? Food group should be eaten together. Insulin resistant diet is for certain type of people only, carry weight thru the middle, skin tags, tired after eating, low energy mid day, and the list went on. The book claims that insulin is the cause of some peoples weight issues and if you stop the insulin from spiking weight can be lost. Hope this was helpful, I'm still reading so I may post again with more info.
Thanks for that information. It sounds kind of confusing to me, but I'm sure that if you read the whole book it becomes a lot more clear. How long have you been following this?
I haven't started yet. I was waiting until I finished the book. I thought it would be better for me if I understood the whole concept.
