the atkin's diet isn't free. its sold as a book.
There are several Atkins' books. It is a low carb diet and is similar to the South Beach Diet and to The Zone. With Atkins, as I understand it, there is a two week induction period where one eats mostly protein. You stay away from sugar and carbohydrates (pasta, bread) and "starchy" vegetables (potatoes, winter squash, peas) and drink a lot of water. After the two week period, you add back some foods. It would be very helpful for you to have access to the book. I am sure that you can find out more on line or by taking checking your local library. I'm new to this site myself and so I am sorry that I can't point to any specific information on this site. Get to the library and good luck with your weight loss plan!
