A machine that I love, and I am pretty sure your gym will have it, is the elliptical. It is easy to use, has low impact, and doesn't hurt the back or knees. And I think a spin class would be great. The trainers help to keep you motivated, and you can definitley build your cardio so you can do the full class. Good Luck!! :D

Joining the gym is the first step you can take to getting into better shape. Going there is the second!! :) I have never did spinning, it looks a bit harder than a treadmill or just a stationary bike, but it looks like it burns a lot of calories for sure! It never hurts rto give it a try, if it is too hard at first, maybe get started with a regular stationary bike or a treadmill and work your endurance up from there. 20 minutes to a half an hour is what I see everywhere, but (again) don't be afraid to work your way into it. Then build on it.

Hi. I just joined a gym and I was wondering what I should be doing for cardio. They have all the usual machines, treadmills and steppers. Also they offer spinning classes. Are those a good form of cardio? I'm not sure what I should be doing and for how long. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks a lot. :D Jessica Current Weight: 155 Goal Weight: 120 Height: 5'3"
