I found your site today and I'm very impressed with all the great info and help. I left work (IT) 1 year ago and travelled in on an expedition across Africa. It was fantastic and I managed to lose 30 lbs during the first 3 months. Unfortunately I managed to put on 30 lbs during the next 3 months. So here I am back home in England trying to lose 84 lbs in 28 weeks. Then I leave home again to travel to South and then North America. I have started today and purchesed a Food and Exercise Diary for my Laptop to record everything I do. Good luck to everyone and I hope to report some good news in a few weeks. Robin

Hi Robin! Why do you think you lost the weight on the trip? Was it the exercise of the food? You may want to incorporate some of both into your lifestyle back home in England. Welcome aboard! Hen

Hi Hen Thats a very good point. We crossed Africa on a truck starting in the NW and crossing the Saharra for a few months. I walked a lot each day and we just couldn't find meat so lived off fruit and veg. I have walked 2 hours today and bought loads of fruit and veg so hopefully can reproduce the success I had then. Thanks for the welcome. Robin

Welcome Robine.. nice to meet you! Sounds as if you are off to a good start! Keep us posted on how everything is going! Not sure if you knew, but there is a journal included here.. You can keep it private if you want!

Hi Robine I also just joined and I[i:a0e9a0b7f0]live[/i:a0e9a0b7f0] in Africa (well South Africa), but the curious thing is when I went on holiday to England I lost weight there 8) I reckon it's all the walking that does it. Hard to do when you're at home with a full time job in front of a computer. I bet you lose weight once yoo're off on your travels again

Thanks for all the support Shaz I hope your right. I've decided not to purchase a car for the 6 months I'm back in the UK and have been walking everywhere. Its incredible how much you miss when inside a vehicle. I walked 4 hours today with my elder sister to an inner city farm and now feel very tired but happy. South Africa was fantastic we spent 4 weeks driving around every province, 7500km in total. Good luck with your healthy eating. Robin
