Is there anyone here who has had significant weight loss with exercise alone, without diet? I have tried dieting along with my exercise and I tell ya I can do it for about a week, maybe two and then I lose interest in it. I HAVE managed to lose 15lbs....but that has been over an 8mth period. I have stepped up my exercise in the past couple of weeks to an hour a day on a bike 5 times a week and about 1/2 weight training maybe twice a week, and 60 - 75 situps per day. I would just like to know if that is REALLY gonna make any difference or if my weight loss will continue to be about 1-2 lbs per month without diet. Please, someone who has had success with my regimen reply to reassure me.

No, exercise alone isn't going to cut it :(

I weighed myself this morning and i am down to 144lbs so thats 22lbs in 8 1/2 months......i guess i will just have to be patient because i just cant seem to stick to a diet.

I ran 3 miles a day for two months, and i was on a diet ( eating Special K cereal, salads from any fast food restaurant, tuna fish A LOT OF WATER) i did that for two months and i lost about 25 pounds :D :D :D :D now im going to try to lose 15 pounds just to get in a better shape for soccer season!

Yeah, you really need to diet, especially for long term weight loss. Good Luck!!

Excercise alone won't give you the results you want. The only way to really succeed is to change your eating regime! That is a better way of putting it, because that's really what you need to do. You don't need to feel hungry all the time, and you don't need to be rushing all over the place buying special foods either. Maybe that's why you had such a hard time! The real key is to change the way you eat, over the long term, and also to excercise regularly. That way, you don't just loose weight, then regain it, loose weight, regain it etc. Instead, you get to enjoy a healthier, more active and enjoyable life. Good luck.

What I found that worked for me, I saw a doctor who showed me to a nutritionist. He made it so much easier, and you can incorporate food that you want to eat. It really helped me a lot.
