There seem to be so many diet plans out there. I've always thought that if I could just take the best parts of these plans and put them together in a reasonable way that would work for me that I would have a really good workable plan. The trouble is, I never quite get past the thinking about it stage. I know I lost weight on the Fat Flush plan, but found it so strict that I couldn't stay on it. Similarly, I lost some weight on the Atkins plan, but started feeling not-so-healthy and didn't stick to that one either. The best plans for me seem to be the ones where I cut out wheat and dairy products altogether. But again, they are too strict to live with long term. Just wondering if anyone has successfully designed their own plan from all that are out there? :?: - Joan (in Rochester, NY)

Hello Joan.. I think creating your own healthy weight loss program is a good idea. Only you know the particulars of what will work for you. If you are a vegetarian, it rules out meat. If you are lactose intolerant, milk would be out of the question. If you have tried a few different diet plans, you can put the things that have worked in the past into a unique diet tailored for you and your lifestyle. BTW.. Welcome to you!

Hi Joan :) I to think diets can be too restrictive and have difficulty sticking to them. I also get fed up counting calories. I am going to invent my own diet or healthy eating plan low fat and low carb. Hope whatever you try works. Lou :D

hi -- Yeah I have heard of people making their own diet plan- in fact it was in a recent Womans World magazine. she ate the majority of her carbs in the morning and early afternoon- she did cut back on portion sizes also- drank lots of water- and I mean like two eight ounce glasses before and with her meals. At evening meal time she ate salad, and protien( meats, fish, poultry) for snacks she ate dry roasted peanuts, all low to no carb snacks in the afternoon, and evening. She also never ate anything after 8:00pm. She took up walking, at a moderate pace- around 2 miles a day to start - she got up to like 5 miles per day - 6 days per week. Let me tell you she looks great- I want to try it - and I would do sooo much better if I had a diet and fitness buddy to keep in contact with. Wanna try it?? We can swap meal lists, fitness routines!!! Just have to warn ya, I am certain to lose this extra weight if it KILLS me- so I do need someone who is as adement about it as myself. By the way I also live in Upstate NY- I live 90 minutes from Rochester, NY- south of Rochester. My daughter , her husband , and my brand new one week old grandson live in Chili- so I do spend alot of time up there. Feel free to contact me- my email is on my profile.

Hi JoJo, Didn't see your email address in your profile, so I'm answering here. :) I am trying the Weight Watchers points system, without the meetings or online support. And I'm combining that with a metabolism-boosting plan that I saw in Women's World magazine. Today is my first day on the plan and so far, so good. I've got lots to lose, like 60 some pounds. If you're got somewhere close to that to lose, then I'd be happy to be your diet and fitness buddy. (I think it can be hard to support each other if we have really different goals).
