Hi there. I quit drinking a while ago. I decided it didn't help me with anything in my life really, but I won't go into all of that. My advice, keep in mind that calories are calories, no matter how you get them. If you are trying to follow any diet, the drink calories have to be counted in there. It sounds like you have a really good start on eating and exercise, so if you cut back on your consumption too, you should see some results. Hope this helps!
Thanks. I really do enjoy having a few drinks at night. It does appear to help me relax some after work but I know it's what's hindering my loss. There is no other reason why I shouldn't already be really close to my goal weight by now. I think I am just one of those people who cannot drink at all and still expect to lose. ???? I cut back from drinking 7 nights a week to 5, to 4, to 3 and last week, only Friday and Sat and still- no real loss :( Like I said, I exercise 4-5 times a week and pretty much live on fruits, veggies, cubed cheese, protein and water. I like canned tuna and chicken on wheat, I eat tons of salad and lean fish and fry nothing. My biggest weakness is pasta and potates and I really limit those. As for the drinks, I like rum and diet coke. 65 calories per shot of rum and none in the diet coke. I don't drink sodas any other time. I am just really disappointed that the lbs aren't coming off faster.
