Here is what I've been doing for a few weeks, and I have made some slip ups, but I never punished myself, just reminded myself the next time that I want this so I have to follow the rules. 1. Graze! This means eating about 6 small meals a day 2. Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables, I personally like apples and baby carrots... I'll eat and apple and some yogurt for breakfast and maybe baby carrots and pretzel sticks for mid-morning meal (the stick shaped food also gives me something to do besides smoke!) 3. I usually have a salad or soup for lunch... I make my own salads from fresh greens from my father-in-laws garden so it is yummy! 4. For mid-afternoon time I'll have some celery sticks with minimal lite cream cheese or maybe some more pretzels (I love those!) 5. For dinner I eat a low-cal vegetarian meal like saute'd tofu on a bed of fresh greens or a bean and lentil stew. This may obviously not work for everyone! But is for me, especially because I have hypoglycemia and have to eat every few hours anyway. It really prevents you from being hungry and if you drink water you may even find yourself not finishing your snacks completely! I love it. So anyway, this turned out to be more diet plan oriented than I meant it to. But I hope it helps at least a little! lol I am soooo long winded! ~~~~~Geo

hello geo. that sounds like a great [i:f973e1ae4e]diet plan[/i:f973e1ae4e] the most important thing is that it is one you can stick with! slip ups are ok sometimes, i mean if you have to have chocolate (which is the case for me about once a month, if you know what i'm saying :? ) then you have to have chocolate!! denying yourself probably is the biggest reason to BINGE. binges are more harmful than the occasional treat, imho. i'm glad that things are rolling along for you..success is yours!! keep us posted! you'll have to post a recipe or two in the recipe forum, tofu over sauted greens sounds wonderful! pixie~ :D

Great idea Geo. This should help with your hypogycemia and your progress! Let us know how it is going. You are an inspiration to us all! nahantress

Hi Geo, Sounds like you've got a plan and it's working for you. Congrats. I also luuuuuuv the baby carrots. They're so nice and crunchy, and I don't need anything to dip them in and they're easy to travel with. I occasionally each celery. but I make a babaganoush (?sp) spread to fill them with. you just poke and microwave an eggplant for about 10 minutes, then add a little garlic, a little lemon juice and a tiny bit of oil (i use flax seed oil or olive oil) and whirl it all up in a food processor. i'm not a big fan of celery but this makes it tasty! just a thought .... keep up the good work! - joan
