Hi. I'm new here and I need help to lose weight. 69.7 pounds to be exact. I'm sixteen years old and I live in Michigan. I don't know how or where to start. I want a diet buddy too. I need a support system, I think. And tips from anyone, please!

Welcome to you Chuva. That seems like a lot of weight to lose but you can do it! What do you think is the toughest thing holding you back?

The hardest thing for me is not knowing how I got to be so large. I don't have any vices, and no genetic source that I know of. But I'm definatly more than a little chubby. I don't know what to do to help myself.

Chuva your story seems a lot like mine. i have researched ways.. and if anyone knows HOW to lose weight it is me.. but the matter of actually deciding on a certain diet and pursuing it is the hardest part. I live around all skinney people and they eat what they want around me all day... that can be a little unfair when you are hungry and a food addict. it's all about self motivation. And the part where you not really being able to pinpoint the "why?" is so familiar.. ill be your buddy. the diet i was trying isnt seeming to work too well. ack we both need help disregard this if it seemed in anyway i was trying to give you advise,i was actually reminding myself of some things

Thank you.

Hello again! Nice to hear that you guys have met! Chuva, Cheer up! You don't have to be heavy AT ALL if you don't want to be!! Even though it seems like a lot of weight you can do this! If you are really having a hard time figuring out how you got to be heavy, I might suggest keeping a [b:bad303cb1b]Food Journal[/b:bad303cb1b] use a notebook and write down every thing that you eat. Everything!! If you have a can of pop, write it down, a stick of gum.. whatever.( All of these things contain [i:bad303cb1b]calories[/i:bad303cb1b] and sometimes we "forget" the little things we might snack on etc. during the course of a day...but they don't "forget" to add weight. :? ) I 'm almost sure that a 20 oz bottle of **Brand name Pop** is considered to be 2 1/2 servings so if you drink the whole thing you need to multiply the calories per serving (shown on nutritional value) by 2.5. Might pack a few more calories than you thought!! Give this a try for about a month, and maybe that will help you "see" what's going on.. Just making the decision to change is helping yourself!! If you lost 1 pound a week, you would lose 52 pounds in a year! Keep your chin up!!

That made me cry Kristin. Thank you so much. I appreciate you a lot.
