Hi, I am new to this forum and hope to find some help and possibly a solution to my problem ... After being on a low-calorie diet for a few months, I lost a lot of weight. I have only just stopped dieting and am trying to increase the calories a bit and include all kind of foods into my diet. The only trouble is I seem to have lost my periods as well. I think that missing my periods for 3 months is pretty serious although I read that this is very common for people who lose weight rapidly. Has this happened to anyone else in this forum? What would you recommend that I do? I am afraid to go to my doctor as they would probably make me take a lot of hormones and I will quickly put on the weight again :( Any help would be appreciated! Regards, Margie21

Welcome. Missing your period for three months is not healthy if you are not pregnant or at menopuase. I would suggest that you do see your doctor. If you dont want to be on hormones talk to your doctor. Most of them a normaly good about finding alternitives. The importent thing is to make sure that you are healthy. I would have to agree with kiara on her advice. if you have skipped your period for 3 months and aren't pregnant or menopausal, a call to your doctor might be in order. I hate going to the doctor, too but if you have a legitimate health concern he/ she would be the best one to give you medical advice..

Thank you for your replies. I shall wait another month as I have only just increased the proteins and carbohydrates in my diet. If notheing changes I'd have to consult my doctor. Regards, Margie21

I'm with kiara, too - don't let this go on too long, though, okay? If something is wrong, the sooner you find out the better - sure your not PG? :?:
