i use to do low carb and that stopped working for me, so now i'm doing low carb/low cal. i feel like i'm always hungry now. i never realized how many cals are in everything. is one egg worth the 90 cals? nope, what about meats? sheesh. so i've been having a serving of low carb cereal and low carb milk for breakfast (200 cals) lots of veggies as snacks, a grilled chicken salad as a lunch/dinner meal and at work i have some turkey breast and veggies. i could probably add another meat item in there, and still be on the low cal side. anyone have suggestions on low cal but filling snacks? i was thinking about making a big batch of soup or something

Though they are considered sweets i like having marshmellows as a snack. I am not sure about this but it is pretty close. 4 large marshmellow equal 10 cals, and I dont know to many people who can eat a lot of marshmellows with out getting full. So even if yopu have 8 marshmellows that is only 20 cals. It also helps with the sweet cravings. yeah that's true. i don't have anything made of sugar though. i have a real problem with food and if i start eating junk food i could go on a binge for days. i really try to stick to my plan as much as possible

i find sugar as a crave and mainly foods that have sugar in are bad and high in calories, apart from those with natural sugar such as fruits like apples, pears, banana etc. But sugar only gives an instant high and filling in the one quantity. If you have a more filling snack or appitiser, you will be less likely to crave and snack more and you will feel less hungry. Try snacking on a rice cake 9especially high in fibre ones as they are good for the digestive system). If your thinking of being on a low carb diet (which i dont recomend - lots of probs in the long term) the try snaking on fruit like bananas. Hope this helps be well  Kel x

i've been low carb for a year and a half, that's how i lost most of my weight. i've heard many good things about low carb and many bad things about it. my take on is it's got to be better than being obese.

I just checked on fitday and 1 large marshmallow is 20 calories - all sugar so how do you get 4 for 10 calories?

It was what was marked on the nutrtion lable. I even went back and doubled checked. I honestly dont know which one is right. [color=red:f9dff04c9a][u:f9dff04c9a][b:f9dff04c9a]Kiara[/b:f9dff04c9a][/u:f9dff04c9a][/color:f9dff04c9a]

wow, I just posted in trials and tribulations about my day - I couldn't stop eating and I didn't care about carbs, fat, calories or anything - i just couldn't stop eating! And it's only 5 PM here - I've a whole night to get through yet!! So yes, I sure know what it's like to be hungry all the time - it finally made me break down and stuff my foolish face with everything in sight. I could kick myself from here to the moon but at the same time, I honestly couldn't stop myself - I just reached a point where I had to eat! What is that? I wonder if there's any diet that keeps one feeling satisified. I"m beginning to think not.

I was on a low cal diet and lost 80 pounds fairly quick, but i hit a time where i couldnt stay out of the foods.. everything i could get my hands on... this would happen about once a week and then suddenly it started to happen every day for about a month .. and by then my diet was ruined, however i was finally able to get normal portions and go back to a low fat / cal diet once again.. * Although the uncontrollable eating made me gain 20 pounds back! I feel great now i can finally eat norm!~ sometimes you just have to give in to your body when it has the endless urge to eat.. i did and it turned out okay in the end. good luck on your diets :D
